Tom
Stalker and Dave Wormald,
and Explorer Post 208 Leader Helene Stalker, with Eagle Scout Andrew
Williams, performed a Daring Rescue on the Cape Fear River!
Local news coverage of the rescue was fairly extensive,

On November 5, 1998, Assistant Scoutmaster Dave Wormald was awarded
the Dan Beard District Certificate of Merit.
On November 5, 1998, Tom Stalker was awarded the Silver Beaver
award.
On March 6, 1999, Dave Wormald received the Honor Medal at
the Occoneechee Council Banquet.
On March 6, 1999, Tom Stalker received the Scouting Heroism Award.
On March 6, 1999, Helene Stalker and Andrew Williams received
the Medal of Merit Award.
